Examples that aren't Teacher Lanyards & Why
The following lanyards and keychain holders are billed as teacher lanyards and they really aren't. In some cases they come up higher in searches. We show examples of these impostors and point out why they aren't really teacher lanyards.

The lanyard pictured to the left is close to our teacher lanyard. It falls way short though for several reasons.
This badge holder is done on stock patterns like polka dots and my guess is that your school colors are not polka dots or paisleys.
The other thing missing from this job is that you only get the person name on one side and the other side is blank -- no school name. The charge is based on the number of letters on one side. Price comparison: this wannabe is 2-3 times the price of a genuine teacher lanyard..
From what we gathered, this is not available with popular options like the detachable buckle or break away for safety.
Teacherlanyard.com doesn't charge by the letter. If the name fits then it goes on the lanyard. Same thing goes for the school name. You get your school colors on the lanyard with teacherlanyard.com
The lanyard pictured to the right is another faux teacher lanyard. The reasons this one falls short are many. It has a positive education message and we are not knocking it for that, but there is no school name and no faculty name.
Since it is custom printed, this imposter is done in colors that might not necessarily be in your school colors.
Furthermore, there is no choice in attachment and it is only printed on one side like most lanyards. The imprint method is silk screen and like most in this custom process, printing only appears on one side of the fabric and the image will fade over time - 6 months or so

The item pictured to the left is a rhinestone lanyard and incorrectly marketed as a teacher lanyard.
Besides being expensive for something that isn't custom, the rhinestones tend to fall off rather easily. Several schools that contacted me about our real teacher lanyards told me the rhinestones fall off inside of 30 days of use.
Why can't rhinestone lanyards be considered teacher lanyards? You don't even get customization of your school name, so forget the faculty name. There are limited color selections, no attachment choicse, and no upgrade availability.
We have also noticed necklaces, a traditional jewelry item, being falsely promoted as teacher lanyards. As you can imagine, there is no school name, no indvidual name, and no popular upgrades available.
It appears that you have to buy an additional item to attach your keys and ID badge to this necklace.
This jewelry item is three times the cost of a real teacher lanyard.
